Marshall Rams Varsity fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 5-3 loss to Warren on Tuesday. Warren scored on a error in the first inning, a error in the first inning, a single by A Valdez in the second inning, and a single by Lauren Hernandez in the second inning.
Marshall Rams Varsity lost despite out-hitting Warren eight to three.
Marshall Rams Varsity captured the lead in the first inning. Haley Castro drove in one when she homered in the first inning.
Warren took the lead for good with two runs in the first inning. In the first there was an error, scoring one run and there was an error, scoring one run.
Warren scored three runs in the second inning. The big inning for Warren came thanks to a single by A Valdez and a single by Lauren Hernandez.
Valdez earned the win for Warren. She tossed three and a third innings, surrendering three runs, five hits, and striking out two. Kamiryn Blietz took the loss for Marshall Rams Varsity. She threw six innings, giving up five runs, three hits, striking out three, and walking one.
Marshall Rams Varsity collected eight hits. Mariah Cerna Garza and Castro each collected multiple hits for Marshall Rams Varsity. Castro and Cerna Garza each collected two hits to lead Marshall Rams Varsity.
Warren didn’t commit a single error in the field. Briana Arredondo had five chances in the field, the most on the team.
