Marshall fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 13-8 loss to Warren on Thursday. Warren scored on a double by Daniel Aidan Navarro, an error, a single by Victor Roman, a triple by Jeffrey Eigel, and a single by Micah Nahass in the second inning.
Despite the loss, Marshall did collect eight hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Warren had 12 hits on the way to victory.
Warren pulled away for good with eight runs in the second inning. In the second Carlos Guevara laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run, Navarro doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs, an error scored one run for Warren, Roman singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run, Eigel tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs, and Nahass singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
Marshall notched four runs in the fifth inning. Parker Gray, Joseph Garza, and Ziegen Farley all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Guevara led the Warren to victory on the pitcher’s mound. He went three innings, allowing two runs on three hits, striking out one and walking one.
Farley took the loss for Marshall. He allowed five hits and eight runs over one and two-thirds innings.
Jarin Estala started the game for Warren. He surrendered six runs on four hits over four innings, striking out five
Marshall collected eight hits. Abdiel Arroyo and Ben Klar each managed multiple hits for Marshall. Klar and Arroyo all had two hits to lead Marshall.
Warren collected 12 hits on the day. Hiram Avices, Navarro, and Eigel all managed multiple hits for Warren. Avices went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Warren in hits.
