Marshall had trouble keeping up with Brandeis in a 16-2 loss on Friday.

Brandeis got things moving in the first inning. Brandeis scored one run when Oscar Cardenas singled.

In the bottom of the first inning, Marshall tied things up at one. Chris Tobias doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Brandeis pulled away for good with ten runs in the second inning. In the second AJ Aguilar singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run, Aric Vasquez doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, an error scored one run for Brandeis, Cardenas drew a walk, scoring one run, JM Ramirez doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs, Sam Olmeda doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, and J Flores doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.

Ty Fontenot was the winning pitcher for Brandeis. He allowed six hits and two runs over five innings, striking out seven.

Wesley Egle took the loss for Marshall. He went three and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on seven hits and striking out three.

Ziegen Farley started the game for Marshall. He lasted one and one-third innings, allowing four hits and six runs

Parker Gray, Egle, Matt Zepeda, Abdiel Arroyo, Farley, and Zane Zuniga all had one hit to lead Marshall.

Brandeis saw the ball well today, racking up 13 hits in the game. Vasquez, Aguilar, Flores, and Olmeda all managed multiple hits for Brandeis.
