Marshall Fights Back In Loss To Warren
Despite a 4-run deficit in the sixth inning, Marshall almost came all the way back, eventually falling 7-6 to Warren on Friday. Marshall scored three runs in the failed comeback on a single by Parker Gray in the sixth, a error in the seventh, and a single by Jacob Sanchez in the seventh.
Despite the loss, Marshall did collect 11 hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Warren had nine hits on the way to victory.
Marshall fired up the offense in the second inning. An error scored one run for Marshall.
Warren pulled away for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third Mow singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run, an error scored one run for Warren, and Garcia singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
Sanchez was credited with the victory for Warren. He allowed five hits and three runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking one. Mow threw five and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Branden Quintana took the loss for Marshall. He surrendered seven runs on nine hits over seven innings, striking out four.
Marshall tallied 11 hits on the day. Sanchez, Nico Lopez, Gray, and Nate Gamez each racked up multiple hits for Marshall. Gamez, Gray, Lopez, and Sanchez each collected two hits to lead Marshall.
Warren saw the ball well today, racking up nine hits in the game. Puente and Navarro each had multiple hits for Warren.
