This afternoon at Northside Sports Gym, the Lady Ram Varsity team came up with the win against the Roosevelt Rough Riders. The Rough Riders played with composure and class as they did not let up on their offensive passing and patience and defense. However, the grit, hustle, and shots taken by the Lady Rams proved to be what was needed to get their first win of the season.
The LRB varsity program returned four from last year: juniors Aunna Pollock, Destini Alston, Brooklyn Cray and sophomore Elianna Maldonado, along with six new faces to the team! The coaching staff is excited to see what the new year brings and they will begin preparing for their next game this Monday, November 9th at Boerne Champion HS at 7:30PM.
“I’m really excited seeing this group of girls and proud of their ability to adjust to the times. You can feel the chemistry the moment you walk into the locker room which is where it all begins! Aside from adjusting to offense/defense on the court, they have adjusted to life during the Covid pandemic. Being able to maintain their grades while virtually learning and come to practice playing in a mask can be tough; however, their drive to set the tone of the LRB Program is what we need to propel us forward! We have a long way to go and I am confident that these young ladies are eager to put the work in to succeed on and off the court. Being patient, running the offense, making the extra pass, taking the better shots, hustling, grabbing boards, are just a few areas where we want to excel in.”
