Marshall lost the lead late in a 6-3 defeat to Brennan on Tuesday. The game was tied at three with Brennan batting in the top of the sixth when Jared Linderman hit a solo homer.
Marshall got things started in the second inning. Marshall scored two runs when Joe Zavala singled.
Brennan scored three runs in the third inning. The offensive onslaught by Brennan was led by Adrian Cruz and Isaiah Gonzalez, all knocking in runs in the inning.
Gonzalez earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Brennan. He surrendered three runs on seven hits over seven innings, striking out five.
Ziegen Farley took the loss for Marshall. He surrendered zero runs on zero hits over one inning, walking zero.
Cristian Aguilar started the game for Marshall. He lasted five and a third innings, allowing seven hits and four runs while striking out two
Marshall totaled seven hits. Chris Tobias and Parker Gray each managed multiple hits for Marshall. Gray and Tobias each managed two hits to lead Marshall.
Brennan saw the ball well today, racking up ten hits in the game. Xavier Salazar, Linderman, and Gonzalez all managed multiple hits for Brennan. Brennan tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Salazar led the way with two.
