Marshall snagged a late lead and defeated Taft 8-4 on Tuesday. The game was tied at four with Marshall batting in the top of the seventh when Chris Tobias doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Taft tied things up at four. Matthew Perales singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
After Marshall scored one run in the top of the fifth, Taft answered with one of their own. Marshall scored when Matt Zepeda doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. Taft then answered when Josh Merten was hit by a pitch, driving in a run.
Corbin Walston took the win for Marshall. He lasted one and two-thirds innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out two and walking one.
Daniel Rodriguez took the loss for Taft. He went two innings, allowing four runs on three hits.
Aj DeLeon started the game for Taft. He lasted five innings, allowing seven hits and four runs while striking out three Aguilar started the game for Marshall. He lasted five and a third innings, allowing seven hits and four runs while striking out four
Marshall racked up ten hits. Aguilar, Tobias, and Ziegen Farley each had multiple hits for Marshall. Aguilar led Marshall with three hits in four at bats. Marshall was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Zepeda made the most plays with six.
Taft tallied eight hits. Devin Goins and Mj Bustillos each managed multiple hits for Taft.
