Walk-Off Seals Win For Clark Against Marshall
Marshall fell to Clark 8-7 on Friday on the final play of the game. The game was tied at seven with Clark batting in the bottom of the eighth when Silva hit a solo homer.
Despite the loss, Marshall did collect eight hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Clark had 14 hits on the way to victory.
Marshall got things started in the first inning when Matt Zepeda homered on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.
Marshall knotted the game up at seven in the top of the seventh inning. Marshall scored one run when Abdiel Arroyo doubled.
Clark scored five runs in the sixth inning. Silva, Silva, Cortez, and Hooper all drove in runs in the frame.
#10 led the Clark to victory on the pitcher’s mound. He went one and one-third innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out one and walking one. Cody Edwards threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Corbin Walston took the loss for Marshall. He allowed two hits and one run over one and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking one.
Daniel Burke started the game for Clark. He lasted five and a third innings, allowing seven hits and six runs while striking out four Zepeda started the game for Marshall. He went five and a third innings, allowing seven runs on 12 hits, striking out five and walking zero
Marshall launched one home run on the day. Zepeda went yard in the first inning.
Marshall racked up eight hits in the game. Arroyo and Parker Gray all managed multiple hits for Marshall. Gray and Arroyo each managed two hits to lead Marshall. Marshall didn’t commit a single error in the field. Cristian Aguilar had five chances in the field, the most on the team.
Clark had 14 hits in the game. Silva, Hooper, Edwards, Silva, and Cortez each had multiple hits for Clark.
